I have been a Paediatric Consultant at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital since 2018. My area of expertise is Cardiology and I achieved the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) Certification in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography in May 2018. I offer private appointments before and after my normal NHS clinics. I assess children referred from GPs and other Paediatricians with cardiac concerns such as murmurs, palpitations, fainting and chest pain. I also provide familial echocardiography and ECG screening for potential inherited cardiac diseases.

MY SERVICES
ECHOCARDIOGRAM
This is an ultrasound of the heart. This will normally take around 20-40 minutes and can be performed at the appointment. This may be required, for example for; murmurs, symptoms suspicious of a structural heart problem, or screening if another family member is affected. This is a painless test.
A 12 lead ECG is used to assess the electrical activity of the heart. Stickers are placed on the chest and limbs which then connect to a machine via wires. This will take around 10 minutes to set up and complete. This is a painless test. Sometimes a 24 hour or even 7 day ECG monitor is required to get a longer recording. If symptoms are infrequent an AliveCor KardiaMobile is a pocket-sized personal ECG device you hold that allows you to measure your heart rate and rhythm and then capture the data on your linked smartphone.
CLINICAL EXAMINATION
During the appointment I will take a full history and undertake a clinical examination.
ONWARD REFERRALS
I have an excellent working relationship with the Bristol Children's Hospital Cardiology team. It may be that if an issue is found, further referral to a sub-specialist is required.

I am a friendly and easy to talk to doctor and will do my utmost to put your child at ease. I will listen to the concerns of the child, family and carers and aim to address them fully by the endof the appointment.
Ideally your GP is able to email, with your consent, a letter of referral to the address below.
